How to register your mobile app on Twitter to post tweets

Most mobile apps these days have some kind of Twitter integration. The less the app can do on behalf of an user, the simpler this integration is.

Mobile apps that want to post tweets need to be registered on Twitter and cleared by their API team. Here’s how.

Step 1: Where?

Go to Twitter developers, sign in with the Twitter account that will be linked to your app, and click on Register an app.

Tip: The Twitter account that you use will not be visibile to your app users unless you want to. Avoid personal accounts as the app developers might need to have access to this account if things don’t work.

Robot Media at Mobile World Congress 2011

Next week Barcelona hosts Mobile World Congress, the combination of the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a congress featuring prominent Chief Executives representing mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world.

ARA Mirades: a photo gallery app for iPad

ARA (“now” in Catalan) is a multi-platform Catalan newspaper that launched on November 28th 2010. As part of their launch, Robot Media created the ARA Mirades app for iPad, a photo gallery showcasing the most significant pictures of the day with commentary. Users can also browse the backlog of pictures, which can be saved as favorites or shared via Facebook, Twitter or email.

Children’s Christmas: the most popular Advent calendar on iTunes

Children’s Christmas is a free multi-language Advent calendar app for iPhone/iPad.

Starting on December 1st, kids can open the window of the day until Christmas day. Each window reveals illustration and quote from the Bible, which can be shared via Facebook, Twitter or email.

The app was quickly developed using our graphic storytelling engine for client BCNmultimedia. Since its release it has become a top app in the Book category in more than 60 countries.
