Here’s how to have your firestick cast to Firestick from your MAC, PC or Windows.
How To Cast PC To Firestick
Before we begin, we want to make sure that your Firestick is in place. So please check for the following:
- Ensure that your Amazon Firestick is properly plugged into your Television
- You are already logged in to your Firestick account
- Check to make sure your Firestick and PC is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
Step 1: Tap and hold the home button to navigate to the Home screen
Step 2: Select the Mirroring option
Step 3: A message should appear your TV screen like the one below
Step 4: On your computer, you should see a message appear.
Note: you may have to click on your Notifications icon which is usually located at the bottom of your display screen near the date and time. Click on the message.
Step 5: On the bottom of the Notifications tab, click Connect. It should be the second button on the bottom right-hand corner. If the devices have been successfully connected you’ll see a message that states Connected.
Just as an FYI, the default mode from your TV screen will show as an exact duplicate to your PC. However, you do have the capability to have your TV act as an extension to your PC.
How To Change Projection Mode For Amazon Firestick
When casting from PC to Firestick, you’ll have it as a default to have a mirror screen. This means you will see the same screen on your TV as you see on your computer. Depending on how you would like to view your content, you can configure the settings necessary.
In order to do this, tap on the Notifications icon and select Change Projection mode setting. Here are the three possible display modes available in the Projection mode setting.
Duplicate - Your TV will mirror the same content as your PC screen
PC Only - No projection occurs on your TV
Extended - The TV Screen acts as a second monitor
How To Cast Mac To Firestick
With your Mac, you won’t have the same options to mirror your screen to your TV. Since MAC works with an OS system, you’ll need to use Airplay technology to get the job done.
You’ll simply need the AirPlay app which should already be installed on your MAC device.
Step 1: Tap on the home button of your Firestick and select the Search icon.
Step 2: Go to the Amazon App store and search for AirPlay Mirror Receiver.
Step 3: Select the Get button to download the app from the Amazon Store.
Step 4: Now head to your Mac and go to System Preferences.
Step 5: Select Displays.
Step 6: Then tap on Check-in - show mirroring option in the menu bar when available. On the top of your screen, there should be an airplay icon. Tap on that icon and you should see your Amazon Firestick name appear. This means your device is available for AirPlay.
Step 7: Select your Firestick device from that dropdown menu. Once you’ve done that, you’ve now successfully cast to firestick!
How To Cast Your Android or iPhone To Firestick
With your Android device, you’ll need to install casting apps such as AirScreen to cast your entire phone screen to Firestick:
Step 1: Tap on the home button to access the home screen of your Firestick. Then select “Settings.”
Step 2: Tap on “Display & Sounds”
Step 3: Choose the “Enable Display Mirroring” button
Step 4: Tap on the Search icon and search for Airscreen.
Step 5: Then download the AirScreen app from the Amazon Play Store.
Now the next steps will require you to download a casting app to your Android or iPhone device. Below we’ll show you a casting app for Android and another app for your iPhone or iPad device.
If You Have An Android:
Step 1: Select and launch the Google Play Store on your Android.
Step 2: Search for the AllCast app in the play store and install the app.
If You Have An iPhone or iPad,
Step 1: Search the iTunes App Store for “Mirror for Amazon Fire TV”
Step 2: Select either of the apps and tap on the download.
Note that the app may cost $4.99.
If you’re using the AirBeam TV app, you’ll also need to install the AirBeam TV Mirroring Receiver on your Firestick by going to the Amazon Play Store.
Once you have these apps installed, casting to Firestick is incredibly easy. Simply start playing any media such as video, movie or TV show and select the screen mirroring option.
